Commonwealth Choir Competition

Our Commonwealth Choir entered a competition entitled The Commonwealth Children’s Choir Competition 2016 – Music for Peace & Development.  

Children’s Choirs ( ages 9  -12 ) in any of the 53 countries in the Commonwealth were invited to enter the Commonwealth Children’s Choir Competition 2016.  The winner of the Commonwealth Children’s Choir Competition 2016 receives a £1,000 cash prize and will take up a 12-month role as a “Commonwealth Music Ambassador” from Commonwealth Day 2017.  Each choir entering the Commonwealth Children’s Choir Competition 2016 was required to perform the following music:

  1. The Commonwealth Anthem
  2. A Song For The Commonwealth by Simon Haw 

They were also required to write 500 words about the importance of music in the community.
