A message from Mrs Ward
Dear Parents and Children,
Firstly I would like to thank you all for your kind donations and sponsorship for our Athlete visit this week. The children gain such a huge amount from hearing the inspirational stories of people like Ezekiel and I hope that meeting people like him, inspire our children to 'be the best they can be.' We raised an incredible £1739.83, some of which we can use for new sports equipment and the development of PE within the school. So thank you.
Secondly, we have provisionally booked Friday 28th June 2019 as our International Evening. This evening is always a huge success and is a wonderful way of coming together to celebrate the diversity that we have at St Michael's. The children enjoy performing during the evening and it is always lovely to share food together and enjoy some dancing! The money raised from International Evening helps to fund the coaches used for our school trips, the price of which is currently £400 per coach. I am sure you can appreciate that whilst we do try to keep the cost of trips down for you as parents by using public transport, it is important that the younger children are transported safely, so at times a coach is essential. With school budgets continually being cut we can only run these trips with support from you. Therefore if you can volunteer to assist at International Evening, then please sign up to either bring a dish or volunteer to help during the evening. Teachers will have lists in classes next week so if you can help in any way then please approach them.
Finally, Year 6 had a fantastic week at PGL Boreatton Park in Shrewbury last week, although they did get a little wet! The continual rain did not 'dampen' their spirits and despite the weather they had a fantastic week. I have included some photos below.
I hope you have a lovely weekend.
