A message from Mrs Ward

Dear Parents and Children,

We have had a great start to the term and the children have settled into their new classes very well.  We are delighted to report that we received our new Quality Mark this week in recognition of our commitment to developing the children's basic Maths and English skills.  The assessor visited classes and spoke to myself and other senior leaders and was impressed at the provision we have for all children, especially those with special educational needs.

After some discussion in September we have decided to change the way that certificates are awarded this year.  Rather than having weekly certificates given out in assembly, there will be a termly celebration assembly where children will be awarded with certificates for various pieces of work they have done during the term or in recognition of their attitudes towards learning.  Children who demonstrate a fantastic attitude to learning or complete excellent work will still be rewarded in class with stickers and class based rewards and may be sent to me to enable them to receive a Headteacher's Award or Headteacher's Gold Letter.

Finally I would like to say a huge thank you for all the generous donations you have all made over the past few weeks towards our Harvest collection.  Volunteers from the food bank at Bonny Downs came to school today to collect our offering and were delighted with all that we had collected, so thank you.

Our Harvest Collection!

I hope that you all have a fantastic half term holiday.

Warmest regards

Mrs Ward
