As I am sure you have all seen on the media there was a truly awful terrorist attack in Manchester earlier this week. As a school we held a minutes silence on Thursday with the children to remember those who lost their lives in the attack and their families. We discussed with the children how we live together and how we are constantly following in Jesus' footsteps by loving one another.
Please keep the victims and their families in your prayers.
Outdoor Classroom Day
On Friday 16th June we will be holding an Outdoor Classroom Day. This will involve the children learning outdoors.
Learning outdoors creates lasting memories, helps build a greater awareness of the environment, provides more opportunities to think independently, and gets children feeling challenged and excited by learning.
If you would like to help during this day, then please give you name to the school office as any help would be gratefully received.
Our Sports Leaders worked hard today to organise their first Key Stage 2 Penalty Shootout. The winners were Year 5 after a final tie break!
On Thursday 8th June the school will be used as a polling station so will be closed.
Sports Day will be held on Tuesday 13th June 2017
I continually remind parents of the importance of parking safely when dropping their children at school. However many parents seem to be ignoring this message. On a daily basis I see some parents stopping in the middle of the road to let their children out of the car and this is not acceptable.
I am not making life difficult, I am merely concerned for the safety of your children. I will be starting a road safety campaign with the children in key stage 2 after the half term break, in an attempt to improve the safety outside our school gates. I know many parents support my constant efforts and I thank you for your support.

Parents please remember to apply sun cream to your children in the morning before they come to school, as the weather seems to be warming up now. We cannot have all of the children applying suncream during the school day. If you feel that your child may need to reapply sun cream at lunchtime then please see me.
Sun Hats and Water Bottles
Please ensure that your children have a St Michael's sun hat and a water bottle at school every day. The hats are available from Ian Howard and water bottles can be purchased on the school money website and then collected from the school office.
